THE FIFTH EDITION OF THE OBSERVATORY IS ONLINE!
The fifth edition of the European Observatory on Insurance Intermediaries, entirely dedicated to the specific European features of intermediation, is now available on the Internet!
A few years ago, CGPA Europe had the idea of making an enriched and updated database available to everyone, providing an original insight into the knowledge of the intermediary profession. This publication is now a reference in the world of intermediation.
CGPA EUROPE IS INNOVATING THIS YEAR!
For this new edition, CGPA Europe has decided to complete the usual format of its review with an innovative approach: to create a case law database, based on usual litigations around the professional liability of intermediaries.
We gathered our lawyers together across Europe and asked them to describe various cases they had to deal with, in order to provide an overview of the case law in place in a selection of countries: Italy, Spain, Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Ireland and France.
You will notice that cases falling into the same “category” (such as litigation relating to insurance premiums and fraudulent acts, the duty to inform and advise or the burden of proof) are often approached differently by European judges, judging disputes through the prism of their own legal culture.
This unique case law directory will be updated each year by CGPA Europe’s lawyers, providing an overview of current case law trends.
A UNIQUE OVERVIEW OF THE EUROPEAN INTERMEDIATION MARKET
You will also find in this new edition our traditional report, produced in collaboration with MEDI, on the current state of the European intermediation market: the European Union’s position within the global insurance market; the distribution of Life and Non-life premiums in Europe and by country; the concentration of Life and Non-life insurance within the European Union; the structure and evolution of the population of insurance intermediaries: you will find all the latest news!
Another new feature: this year, the Observatory has a section entirely dedicated to bank-insurance: its scope, what are the reasons for its expansion and what are its specificities? You will find the explanations in this study!
This ambitious work will enable you to know and understand with great finesse the practical and legal specificities of the Civil Liability of Insurance Intermediaries, and will be enriched in the coming years with the ambition of enabling everyone to broaden their vision of our profession, both in legal and technical terms.
